Keonjhar: At least six persons sustained critical injuries after two groups of people clashed over the bursting of firecrackers at Dhanurjayapur village under Soso police limits in Keonjhar district, Wednesday night. Among those seriously injured are a man and his minor son. Initially, both of them were admitted to Agarpada community health centre for treatment. However, one of them identified as Narayan Samal was shifted to Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.
Police have not disclosed the identity of his son as he is a minor. Police arrested Thursday another father-son duo for their involvement in the attack. They have been identified as Jila Purty and Natabar Purty. Based on a complaint lodged by Sandhyarani Mishra, a case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated” said Bijay Kumar Bihari, Soso police IIC. The clash occurred at about 8.30pm in Nala Sahi village under Baula police outpost after Mohan Charan Majhi was sworn in as Chief Minister. BJP workers were celebrating by bursting crackers in the village, when Jila and Natabar shot them with arrows.
