6-year-old twins found murdered in UP

Banda(UP): The bodies of the six-year-old twins of a businessman who were kidnapped February 12, were found floating in a river here, Sunday. The kids had been forcibly taken from their school bus by two unidentified gunmen. However, since then there was no ransom demands made.

Police said the two used to travel four kilometres to their school just across the UP-MP border. They were apprehended from the bus in Chitrakoot. Sources said the kidnapping might have taken place due to rivalry the businessman may have developed with a gang. However, the ghastly murders of the two innocent children have sent shockwaves among the people of the area.

Video footage of the kidnapping shows the two kids being forcibly taken away from the bus by two gunmen who had their faces covered. Madhya Pradesh police had offered a reward of Rs 50,000 for any information on the whereabouts of either the kids or the kidnappers, but failed to get any. Combined operations by both the MP and UP police personnel also failed to make any headway.

Santosh Singh Gaur, a senior police officer in Satna district, said the murders could be the handiwork of the notorious ‘Babuli Kol’ gang. Members of the dreaded outfit are wanted in various cases of murder, kidnapping and extortion. “Efforts are on to trace the culprits,” Singh stated.
