Paradip: Seven youths were held after they were found with fake residential certificates during document verification for Indian Army’s recruitment at Gopabandhu Stadium here Monday.
The candidates were identified as Aamar Singh, 19, Sajan Kumar, 19, Akhilesh Kumar Tiwari, 22, Rahul Kumar Yadav, 20, Shiva Kumar Yadav, 21, Gudu Singh, 20, and Azad Kumar Tiwari, 19. While Aamar belongs to Gazipur, the rest of them belong to Balia district of Uttar Pradesh.
Despite hailing from UP, all were found to be in possession of fake residential certificates. They falsely claimed that they belonged to Nayagarh district. The candidates were held at Paradip Adarsh Police Station for questioning. It is suspected that there is a middleman who has provided all these fake residence certificates to the youths.
It is important to note here that it is customary for the recruitment officials to verify residential and educational documents of all the applicants.
