7-year-old submits memorandum to CM Naveen Patnaik seeking justice for Nayagarh minor victim Pari

Bhubaneswar: A seven-year-old girl from Bhubaneswar submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday, alleging against the slow pace of investigation and seeking justice for the Nayagarh minor victim Pari including her family.

According to a source, the minor girl Ashwini pedaled the distance from her residence at Nandan Vihar in the Capital City to Naveen Niwas in the morning, along with some other companions.

“In my letter to the Chief Minister, I have requested him to take necessary steps for expediting the investigation process into Pari murder case. I will also write letters to the Prime Minister and President in this regard,” said the former minor girl.

Notably, the five-year-old girl from Jadupur village in Nayagarh district had gone missing July 14. Her skeletal remains stuffed in a jute bag were recovered from the backyard of her house nine days later.

Pari’s parents had attempted to self-immolate in front of the Odisha Legislative Assembly during its Winter Session. They had taken such an extreme in protest against inaction of the Nayagarh police.
