Chennai: A 70-year-old man named Malaisamy in Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu has filed a petition to the District Collector with a weird request. Don’t get the shock of your life on hearing Malaisamy’s request.
Well Malaisamy wants to marry badminton World Champion PV Sindhu. The 70-year-old has also said in his application that if arrangements are not made quickly, he will kidnap PV Sindhu and marry her. In his application, Malaisamy has alos described himself as someone who is just 16 years old.
The incident happened during the weekly meetings conducted by the District Collector who meets the general public to hear their plea and grievances. Applications are also accepted if people want to say something.
Malaisamy carried a letter with his photo and the badminton gold medallist PV Sindhu to the District Collectorate. He said in his application that he has followed the career graph of the 24-year-old with keen interest and he really admires her deeds. Malaisamy also said that he is not interested in the wealth of the Sindhu. It is just that he feels by marrying her he will provide further impetus to the badminton star.
Malaisamy also stated that he is really happy the way PV Sindhu has made India famous and by making her his life partner he will also get attention all over the world.
Initially the District Collector and officials were surprised at the turn of events. They were apprehensive about the kidnap threat. However, after talking to Malaisamy, they realised that he is a man infatuated by Sindhu and hence taken application route to express his aspirations.
Well marriage or no marriage, Malaisamy has certainly been able to garner media attention.
