Bhubaneswar: The 8th edition of ‘Aditya Memorial Quiz’, organised by Aditya Memorial Foundation, in association with Loyola School, Bhubaneswar was held at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar here Saturday.
Like every year, this year too the programme was a mammoth hit with as many as 113 teams from 27 schools from Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha fighting neck and neck to make it to the final round.
Mothers Public School, Bhubaneswar bagged the winner’s trophy, followed by St Paul’s School, Rourkela and DAV Public School, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar emerging as the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
Bivash Rath and Anirudh, the Quiz Master duo, did their job with great finesse as they held the participants and the audience as well in awe with their wit and knowledge.
Pravakar Mohanty, Director (Finance) in Odisha Hydro Power Generation Corporation Ltd graced the event as the Chief Guest, and Fr Victor F Misquith, Principal, Loyola School Bhubaneswar and Fr Gilbert Menezes, Rector, Loyola School Bhubaneswar, along with other members of the Aditya Foundation made their presence felt by lending all support and co-operation.
Principal Fr Victor F Misquith, SJ welcomed all the participants and in his welcome address, he emphasized on spreading the spirit of Aditya in whose name the quiz is held.
It may be mentioned here that Aditya, after whom the quiz competition is named, was a Class 10 student in Loyola School, Bhubaneswar who lost his life to cancer 18th April, 2010. The objective behind holding the quiz competition is to spread awareness about cancer. Aditya was an exceptionally gifted boy and an avid quizzer.
