Bargarh: In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old girl’s mutilated body was recovered from a forested area near Jogendrapur village under Paikamal police limits in Bargarh district Monday.
The minor’s parents worked at a brick kiln nearby. Her parents had taken her along with them to the brick kiln Sunday. After a while, the girl had returned home. Reaching home, she had gone to a village grocery shop to buy some grocery items. That was the last time she was seen.
After returning home from the kiln, her parents not finding her at home launched a frantic search but failed in tracing her.
Some local residents first spotted her mutilated body lying in the forest. They immediately informed the police who few moments later reached the spot.
The cops recovered the body and sent it for post mortem.
While some villagers alleged that the girl had been sexually abused before being murdered by some miscreants, the police refused to say anything about the case.
“It will be too early to jump to any conclusion. We are waiting for the post-mortem report and hope that it will help us solve the case,” a police officer said.
