Bhubanewar: More than 97 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in 10,464 booths in the third phase of election to be held on April 23 next for six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats.
Chief Electoral office sources here said 97,56,922 voters will exercise their franchise to elect their representatives for the Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri and Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly segments under these Lok Sabha seats.
Out of the total eligible voters, while 47,99,030 are male, 44,56, 729 are women, and 1163 belonged to third gender.
As many as 61 candidates are contesting for Lok Sabha and 356 candidates are trying their luck for the Assembly here.
Out of the 61 candidates contesting for the Lok Sabha while 55 are male six are women. Similarly out of the 356 candidates contesting for Assembly seats 318 are male, 37 women and one belonged to third gender.
