Cuttack, Feb 5: Orissa entered the semifinals in the women’s hockey event of the national Games, beating Karnataka 5-1 at Kollam.
The first and the second quarter was the most productive for Orissa as they scored as many as four goals to almost seal the fate of the match.
Ambika Toppo drew first blood as early as in the fifth minute by converting a penalty corner. Jeera Ekka doubled the lead in the 17th minute through a brilliant field goal.
Niloprajita Majhi found the back of the net in the 20th minute, while Ambika went on to score her second goal in the 27th minute.
Birajini Ekka scored the fifth goal for the winners in the 46th minute.
