The victim, identified as Niraj Chandan, is a Chartered accountant. Chandan, who originally hails from Ludhiana in Punjab, stays in Ghana. He along with his family members came to visit a friend here.
When Chandan was talking to his friend at a parking place at BPIA upon his arrival, the miscreant came on a bike and bolted away with his bag. He had kept passports of all family members and around 2000 Euros valued at Rs156000 in the bag. He lodged a written complaint in this regard with the Airfield police station June 3.
There are reports of drunkards and persons engaged in flesh trade assembling at the parking places near BPIA every night. The locals have raised objections against the illegal activities several times, but to no avail.
A police official in the PCR of Airfield Police station admitted it was a menace, but said when any one of them is caught by the police, they usually threatened them with their high profile links.
