New Delhi: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan who held a press conference in the national capital to highlight the achievements of the NDA government at the Centre in the last four years boasted about some projects in Odisha.
The minister who highlighted some of the flagship projects terming them as the biggest achievements of the NDA government claimed that the refinery at Paradip in Odisha and the coal gasification-based fertilizer project at Talcher were some of his government’s major achievements.
The minister claimed that the Talcher plant has ensured urea production capacity at 1.27 MMTPA with an investment of `11,611 crore. It created direct and indirect jobs for about 4,500, he said. A release from the ministry claimed that the whole project would be complete by 2021.
Pradhan also boasted about the Paradip refinery, saying with 15 MMTPA production capacity, its total investment was `34,555 crore. He claimed that to increase LPG production here Indemax technology had been adopted. The minister also spoke about the gas pipe connection to Odisha under the Urja Ganga project and the Ujjwala project under which free LPG connections are given to the BPL families.
