Angul: One more girl student committed suicide as she scored less marks than expected in the annual Matric exams, the results of which were declared by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Monday.
Sumitra Mirdha of Jhinkibahal village under Kishorenagar police limits consumed poison Wednesday morning. She was rushed to the district hospital in a critical condition, and doctor declared her ‘brought dead’.
A pall of gloom descended on the village following the minor’s death.
Police said the body would be handed over to her family after post mortem.
With Mirdha’s death, the death toll due to poor marks in the Class X exam rose to three. Two students – one at Narendrapur village under Seragada block of Ganjam district and another at Ratalanga village in Jajpur district had taken the drastic step earlier.
