Bhubaneswar: The first cut-off marks for admission to Plus II courses in the junior colleges across Odisha were published by School and Mass Education Department Friday. The cut-off list will be available on the government website: www.samsodisha.gov.in.
Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School in Cuttack topped the cut-off list in science stream with 88.83 per cent.
Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Higher Secondary School in Bhubaneswar set the slot in commerce stream with 78.2 per cent and Patita Paban Higher Secondary School at Ghasipura has the cut-off mark of 78.67 per cent in arts stream.
In Sanskrit stream, the cut-off mark set by Dhruba Charan Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Baliapal, has 68.5 per cent while Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Balakati has earmarked 85% as cut-off marks.
The first phase admissions
will be done between July 2 and July 5.
The second cut-off list will be declared July 10 and the classes are scheduled to begin July 24 after admissions between July 11 and 12.
The department has received 3, 76, 410 applications this year for admission to the Plus II courses and selected 3, 41, 927 of those after scrutiny against 4, 16, 952 available seats in 2001 higher secondary schools across the state.
As many as 5,90,363 students had appeared for the High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations at 2818 exam centres between February 23 and March 8. The results were announced May 7.
