Baunsuni: A woman was killed and her son sustained serious injuries when the two-wheeler they were travelling collided with a tanker before a petrol tank near Baunsuni Bagh river in this district Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Sumitra Chaulia (60) while Ranjan Chaulia (29) was the injured.
According to reports, Ranjan on a motorbike had taken his mother to Sonepur government hospital for treatment. On their way back home, their vehicle collided with a tanker.
Locals rescued the two and admitted them to Baunsuni government hospital before shifting to Sonepur DHH. Later, Sumitra was shifted to Burla-based VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research where she succumbed to her injuries.
