Bhubaneswar: KiiT International School (KiiT-IS) celebrated its 12th foundation day Thursday on its campus amid much pomp and gaiety. The school authorities felicitated the meritorious students of the academic institution on the occasion.
Meritorious students and all-round toppers of the school were presented prizes and certificates amidst deafening applause. The CBSE Plus II academic toppers included Ritu Kumari (commerce), Atmika Patnaik (humanities) and Soham Swain (science). Ritu, who scored 99 per cent marks, received a cheque of Rs 1 lakh. Astuosh Sahoo of Class X was also awarded for his all-round performance.
KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta, KiiT-IS chairperson Monalisa Bal and principal Sanjay Suar were present on the occasion to encourage the students. While Samanta highlighted the need to develop leadership skills by encouraging the entire fraternity to rise and shine, Bal encouraged the students to do their best and draw strength from their values to see them through difficult times in life. Suar spoke on the ‘uniqueness’ of the school and etched out the aspirations and goals of the organisation in the coming years.
This was followed by the investiture ceremony of the Students’ Council and the prefects, and cultural activities like musical melodies on Scottish bagpipes.
