Puri: Congress workers Friday hurled tomatoes at the car of the Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Patnaik while he was on his way to attend the final Rath Yatra coordination committee meeting here.
The Congress activists pelted tomatoes at the vehicle near the RTO office here while the carcade of the CM was passing through Chakratirtha Road in the town. They also waved black flags at the Chief Minister.
Though the miscreants managed to escape after the wrongdoing , Patnaik reached the meeting spot without any further untoward incident and presided over the meeting.
Earlier in the day, several activists of Lulu Sena and Jagannath Sena were detained by police as they were protesting CM’s visit.
