Tensa: In a heartrending incident, a birthday party turned in a remorse ground after a man’s body reached the house on the day of his wife’s birthday.
While family members were busy in the birthday celebration, the sudden arrival of the man’s body was bone-chilling. The incident was reported from Tensa area in Sundargarh district Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mahendra Rout (32) of Tensa.
According to family members, Rout worked as a helper in a private bus ‘Swastik’ that run from Tensa to Bhubaneswar.
It was his wife’s birthday Tuesday. So, he brought saree for her and other things for the celebration before leaving on duty. Overwhelmed, Rout’s wife was waiting anxiously for her husband’s return with their little daughter.
Half-way, he called his wife and said that he would return with the cake. Hardly, did he know that it was his last day and would die without fulfilling his last words to his wife.
Unfortunately, the vehicle met with an accident at Bataharichandanpur in Keonjhar district, leading to the death of Rout.
Sources said, the vehicle ran into a truck from the rear. He was first rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH). However, he died while being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The family members who had gathered for the celebration and were waiting anxiously for his return were devastated when they received a phone call stating that Rout was no more.
