Sambalpur: Police Friday claimed to have busted a gambling den in the town and arrested nine persons from the spot.
Acting on a tip-off that a gambling was going on at a posh hotel, a team of Dhanupali police raided the hotel.
During the raid the cops also seized Rs 3.80 lakh from their possession.
Suspecting a racket behind the gambling spree, police said the racket was probably going on by luring new customers every day through various means.
Notably, in a similar incident Bellaguntha Police in Ganjam district nabbed 10 gamblers after conducting a raid at Jijiba village. The cops had also seized cash worth Rs 15,000 along with a number of mobile phones and bikes from their possession.
