Soro: The staff of a 108 ambulance were forced to kneel down in front of Soro hospital in Balasore district Saturday after they allegedly refused to carry a serious patient to another hospital.
As per reports, a Plus III student of Upendranath College, Ujwal Giri was critically injured in a road accident near Barikpur on National Highway 16 early morning.
He was immediately rushed to Soro hospital by his friends. After his condition got deteriorated, Giri’s friends called for the service of a 108 ambulance.
However, the staff of the ambulance allegedly demanded bribe to shift the patient.
The furious students then forced the ambulance staff, including driver Priyaranjan, pharmacist Deepak Kumar Behera and helper Manas Kumar Jena, to kneel down in front of the hospital.
The staff later filed a complaint at Soro police station and a probe is underway.
