Patna: Within 24-hours after a woman delivered in an auto rickshaw at Baidabaja village under this block in Keonjhar district, two more expectant mothers have delivered on their way to hospitals.
Lata of Silida village under Kaleiposi panchayat experienced labour pain Sunday night.
Her family members tried their best to get an ambulance but failed. Finding no other way, they hired an auto and on their way to Patna community health centre, she gave birth to a baby girl.
Similarly, Kusumita Mohanta of Rohiniduma village of Dumuria panchayat complained of
labour pain Monday morning. After failing to get a 102 ambulance, her family members took her to the CHC. However, when they reached near Nuagaon, she delivered a baby girl.
Local people alleged that though there are many government schemes aimed at the benefit of pregnant women, many of such schemes have failed to serve their real purpose.
Expressing their dissatisfaction over the failure of ambulance service, locals alleged that the Janani Suraksha Yojana was a failure.
