Bhubaneswar: Swaranjali hosted a musical nite –Tum bin ek pal – to encourage budding singers at Soochana Bhawan here Monday.
Eight young and promising singers took the audiences down memory lane through the compositions of legendry music directors Shankar-Jaykishan, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Jatin-Lalit, Anandji-Kalyanji, Salim-Sulaiman, Ajay-Atul, Nadeem-Shravan, Dilip-Sameer, Nikhil-Vinay, Sachin-Jigar, Sajid-Wajid, Anand-Milind, Vishal-Shekhar and Shiv-Hari.
The programme commenced with the solo song Main tare ishq main presented by Neha Niharika who also sang Tere bin ek pal, Chunnar and Jo bheji thi dua at the event.
Gourav sang Mujhe raat din and Jadu teri nazar while Swarnali recited Aaja aayi bahar and Mere khwabon main jo.
There was a duet, Ajhun na aaye balma sawan beta jaye, sung by Neha and Satyasarthak. It was followed by Tejab film song Kehdo ke tum presented by Neha and Gourav. Abhijeet and Anjali sang Dil ki kalam se from the movie Itihaas. The song Chhoti chhoti raatein was presented by Sidhant and Jasmeen and Chori Kiya re jiya was presented by Anjali and Satyasarthak.
Neha and Abhijeet sang Jane jigar jane maan from the movie Aashiqui while Abhijeet and Jasmeen sang Saathiya tune kya kiya.
The concluding performer of the event was Abhijeet and Neha who sang Hum pyar karne wale from the film Dil.
Swaranjali organiser Biranchi Narayan Kar told Orissa POST the purpose of the event was to provide a common platform for the budding artistes to showcase their talent. The effort is expected to boost the confidence of the singers to perform in national and international level competitions, Kar said.
Well-known musician and singer Prafulla Kar and classical singer Bijay Nanda Nayak were present on the occasion.
