Digapahandi: Miscreants planning to rob a bank were frustrated when K Nuagaon police raided their hideout near Ratnei Hill on Digapahandi- Chikiti road and arrested five members of gang late Monday night.
The accused were identified as Anil Sahu, Kashinath, Padhi and Santosh Sabar of Gosain Nuagaon police limits, Surendra Swain of Badabazaar police limits and Arun Panda of Baidyanathpur police limits, K Nuagaon IIC Sujit Kumar Nayak said.
Six crude bombs, three swords, two iron bars, two iron blades, two screw drivers, five max, three torch-lights and cash worth Rs 1,050 were seized from their possession.
The miscreants had assembled at secluded place near Ratnei Hill and were hatching a plan to burgle the Utkal Gramin Bank in Bamkei village when police raided the place and arrested them. A case was registered in this connection and the accused were produced in a court Tuesday. The court rejected their bail pleas and remanded them to judicial custody.
