Rourkela: A stretch of NH-134, particularly from Tarkara Colony to Panposh Gandhi Chhak had turned out to be a deathtrap in Rourkela, for lack of repair and maintenance, a report said.
At many places, the blacktopping has peeled off while potholes and craters have made commuting uneasy. Worse, all the potholes are filed with rainwater, leading to accidents at night. Movement of heavy vehicles has made the condition of the road worse.
Locals said that in the coming days, thing will turn worse when monsoon will be on its peak. Expressing their displeasure, locals alleged the NHAI does not pay heed to the repair of the road even as plans are afoot for expansion of the highway.
