Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has amended the Plus II syllabus by rectifying mistakes in some subjects and issued the annual academic calendar for the examinations 2019 academic year.
According to a senior CHSE official, mistakes in some subjects in the Plus II syllabus in the CBSE pattern in 2016 had come to the notice of the council during the annual examinations this year.
“To ensure mistake-free syllabus, the syllabus committee of the council has recently made necessary amendments to it by rectifying the mistakes found in 150 subjects after a thorough deliberation. The newly-amended syllabus would be uploaded on the CHSE website www.chseodisha.nic.in soon,” he added.
The official further said that the council has also issued the annual academic calendar for the annual and instant examinations in 2019.
According to the calendar, there would be no change in the schedule for the annual Plus II examinations scheduled to commence in the first week of March.
The practical examinations would be conducted between January 18 and 30, while the results of the arts, science, commerce and vocational education would be announced by June 10.
Form fill-up for the ex-regular students would be completed by September 29, while for the regular students the process would be completed by November 17.
“Apart from this, the council has directed all Plus II colleges to complete their annual sports events by the end of December,” the official added.
Meanwhile, a group of parents and students met member of council of Higher Education, Bhujabala Majhi, and submitted a memorandum demanding not to change the question pattern for the students who will appear for the 2019 CHSE examination as already 18 months of the session had passed and students may face lot of problems.
