Bhubaneswar: Residents of Jujhagada in Daruthenga situated in the city outskirts are in a state of panic after a 4-feet-long crocodile was spotted in a waterlogged stone quarry.
The local residents initially thought it was an Indian Komodo dragon but later they realised it was a crocodile.
On being informed, a three-member team comprising forest officials and snake helpline of Khurda district reached the spot.
Chandaka forest range officials have also laid traps to capture the reptile following which it will be released in the Chandaka forest.
According to reports, the crocodile has already killed six swans in the area.
