Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday invited a Chinese delegation to the ‘Make In Odisha Conclave’ to be held later this year, an official said.
The ‘Make In Odisha Conclave-2018’, the flagship biennial business event of the state Government, would be held between November 11 and 15. It would be the second edition of the Conclave.
Patnaik extended the state’s invitation to a business delegation from Fujian province of China when they met the chief minister at the state secretariat here.
The six-member delegation met the chief minister with an objective to seek business ties with Odisha, the official said.
Patnaik informed it that a state delegation led by the industries minister would visit Fuzhou August 31 to showcase the investment opportunities in Chinese industries.
He also sought the support of Fujian provincial government for a successful visit of the Odisha delegation.
Patnaik said the resource rich Odisha is one of the top three states of the country in attracting manufacturing investments.
He said Odisha intends to facilitate growth in six focus sectors – food processing, electronic manufacturing, petro-chemical, textile, metal downstream and tourism.
