Bhubaneswar: The New Delhi-based Odia Samaj will organise Odisha Parba, a two-day colourful celebration at Surat from September 1 to September 2. After a similar event at New Delhi for two consecutive years for 2017-2018, the festival will be held at Surat. The event will showcase the rich cultural heritage, history and legacy of the coastal state for the first time.
It will be held at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC), Sarsana, Surat. The mega event will showcase a grand spectrum of the beautiful coastal state through its enchanting music and dance, traditional art and craft, history and heritage, and authentic cuisine, said Sidhartha Pradhan, president, Odia Samaj.
“The true essence of Odisha will be presented in a never seen before style. Magnificent shades of the state will be felt in each and every corner of the handloom and handicraft gallery, food court and a live stage every single day,” he added.
A replica of the ‘Rath’ (chariot) used in the famous Puri Rath Yatra will be displayed just inside the entrance and intricate applique work and pattachitra designs will add colour to the decoration. A multi projection film will trace Odisha’s struggle against the British, Pradhan added.
