Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police will launch operation Pari-II, a month-long drive to rescue and rehabilitate missing children, from September 1, said Crime Branch (CB) DG Santosh Kumar Upadhyay Tuesday.
The special drive, earlier known as ‘Operation Muskan’, will be launched by the CB of Odisha Police in association with the Women and Child Development Department (W&CD).
In a statement to the media, Upadhyay said ‘Operation Paree II’ will trace the missing children within and outside the state.
The first phase will be held within the state from September 1 to 15 and the second one between September 16 and 30 to trace the missing children from Odisha in other parts of the country, Upadhyay added.
Recently, the Odisha police launched ‘Pari Pain Katha Tiye’ a state-wide awareness campaign against child sexual abuse. Fifteen vans named as ‘Pari Express’ covered all 30 districts of the state from May 28 to June 12.
