New Delhi: Odisha-born MP in Kenyan Parliament, Swarup Ranjan Mishra, met Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu Thursday. Prabhu had posted a photo along with Mishra on his Twitter handle and said that both discussed the healthcare sector in Kenya.
Prabhu is in Kenya to attend the eighth session of India-Kenya Joint Trade Committee meeting. “Met Dr Swarup Ranjan Mishra, MP of Kenyan Parliament and Vice Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Health, Kenya, this morning. Discussed the progress & growing influence of Indian diaspora across the world and areas of mutual cooperation to improve healthcare sector in Kenya,” Prabhu twitted.
Mishra was born in Jagatsinghpur district and completed MBBS and Post Graduation in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in India. He worked as a junior consultant at the PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. He did his diploma in Gynaecology Endoscopy in Kiel, Germany. He is the founder chairman of the Mediheal Group of Hospitals in Kenya, Rwanda and Addis Abba. He is also the founder of the Meditech University for professional studies which is in its initial phase.
Mishra has been elected as a Member of Parliament of Kesses Constituency of the Republic of Kenya.
