Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre here has predicted heavy rains in different parts of the state Monday and Tuesday.
The department in their daily bulletin said Sunday that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over interior Odisha, including Ganjam, with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over Kalahandi, Ganjam, Bargarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Sambalpur and Deogarh districts and heavy rainfall likely at one or two places over the remaining districts.
According to the department, the low pressure over coastal areas of West Bengal and northern Odisha and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal now lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and north coastal Odisha. The associated cyclonic circulation now extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. The system is likely to become more marked during the next 24 hrs.
The MeT says that till now there is no warning for heavy rains from Tuesday onwards. However, while talking about Bhubaneswar, it said that general cloudy sky with a few spells of rain, thundershowers are likely Monday.
