Telkoi: Failure of ambulance services in remote villages due to poor road connectivity has become a regular affair with one more incident being reported from Nuadiha village in Keonjhar district Monday.
An elderly woman, Urmila Mohanty, was suffering from high fever following which family members called up a 102 ambulance. However, the ambulance couldn’t reach the patient owing to lack of a motorable road to the hamlet.
With no options left, Urmila’s family members put her in a cot and carried through the muddy and uneven road to reach the ambulance from where she was taken to Telkoi community health centre (CHC).
Later, she was shifted to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital (DHH) after her condition worsened.
