Buguda: A minor girl was allegedly ‘gangraped’ by two persons including her boyfriend inside the local treasury office after spiking her food here in Ganjam district.
The matter came to light after the girl was found in an unconscious state near a school ground Friday morning.
After being informed by passers-by, police rescued the girl in a critical condition and admitted her to Buguda community health centre (CHC). After hours of treatment, the girl regained her consciousness and revealed her ordeal before the police.
Based on the girl’s statement, police detained two youths and started an investigation. The accused duo has been identified as Raja Pani and Rama Maharana.
According to the police, the victim was in a love relationship with Raja of the locality. On pretext of meeting her, Raja is reported to have called her and took her to a government office near the bus-stand where he allegedly confined her.
He then spiked her food and raped her when she fell unconscious. In her statement to the police, the girl said she was unconscious and could not remember the incident.
