Rayagada: A woman was killed after the auto rickshaw in which she was traveling collided head-on with a tanker near Naidupeta of JK Pur Friday morning.
The woman was identified as Laxmi Amma of Jhinjiribadi. The injured auto driver has been admitted to Rayagada district headquarters hospital (DHH).
Sources said the auto was heading towards Rayagada from JK Pur when it collided with the tanker coming from opposite direction at about 7 am.
Tension prevailed at the spot after the incident. However, the police on reaching the spot pacified the irate locals. The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on, sources said.
