Bhubaneswar: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Hockey India (HI) announced Friday the beginning of the online ticket sale of the knockout stages, which includes semifinals, final as well as the third-fourth place play off, of the Hockey Men’s World Cup, 75 days prior to its commence at the Kalinga Stadium here.
The hockey extravaganza will be played November 28-December 16. Notably, the ticket sale of the pool matches was launched in May with the pricing of Rs 200 for the East Stand and Rs 100 each for the North and South Stands. The first stage of the knockouts – quarterfinals – will remain the same.
However, the prices were raised for the last four and the summit clash as the tickets price will be Rs 250 for the East Stand and Rs 150 each for the North and South Stands, announced the FIH and HI in a release.
The quarterfinals will be played December 12-13, followed by the semifinals and the third-fourth classification match December 15, while the final has been scheduled for December 16.
The 19-day event will feature 36 matches, with the inaugural match will see the face-off between World No.3 Belgium and World No.11 Canada, November 28 at the 15,000-seater Hockey Stadium. Hosts India, the World No.5, will also begin their campaign the same day, against the World No.15 South Africa.
