Brahmagiri: Convener of Sachetana Nagarika Manch, Priyadarshan Patnaik Friday lodged a complaint against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for allegedly flying over Chilika Lake.
The FIR was lodged at Arakhakuda Marine police station in Puri.
According to the complainant, the CM and others flouted the norms by allegedly flying over the Asia’s largest brackish water lake several times in the past, but no action was taken against them.
If action can be initiated against Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, why similar action could not be taken against CM Naveen Patnaik, Brahmagiri MLA Sanjay Das Burma, MP Pinaki Mishra Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty and Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathi for flying over Chilika, questioned Patnaik while interacting with media.
In his complaint, Patnaik also cited the dates and timings when the aforesaid leaders flew over the lake.
Similarly, Patnaik had also lodged the complaint before Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi regarding the alleged flying of the CM over Chilika Lake.
September 17, police seized the chopper of former MP Baijayant Panda after an FIR was filed by state government officials in connection with a helicopter flying over the ‘No Flying Eco Sensitive Zone’ of Chilika Lake.
