Sundargarh: Governor Ganeshi Lal as part of his two-day visit to Sundargarh district inaugurated a 100-bed maternity and infant care hospital here Tuesday.
The Governor who reached Jharsuguda in the day was received by Collector Surendra Kumar Meena, superintendent of police Saumya Mishra and other administrative officials of the district. He was also accorded a guard of honour.
Participating in a review meeting with officials of the various departments, the Governor advised them to work sincerely in the larger interests of the people.
Later, Ganeshi Lal inaugurated the new building of the maternity and infant care hospital set up at a cost of Rs 12.70 crore.
Principal secretary to the Governor, Madhusudan Padhi, Collector, SP, chief district medical officer Dillip Kumar Sadangi, ADMO Pankaj Patel and other officials were present.
Later, the Governor took part in an interactive session with alumni, students, lecturers and principal of Sundargarh Government College.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Students should make right use of their time to reach their desired objectives in life.” He also received gifts from students.
Later, the Governor held discussions with the people’s representatives and members of Self Help Groups at the office of Kirei panchayat.
