Dhenkikote: A man was arrested for allegedly killing his grandfather at Tandibeda village of Khantaghar panchayat near Dhenkikote in Keonjhar district.
After eight days since the incident, the accused Padmalochan Mahakud was arrested from his house at Dumuria village Saturday, police said.
Later Padmalochan was produced at a court.
The body with a stabbing wound near the ear was found at a deserted place near Bankapatuli village of Pipilia panchayat October 5.
Later the body was identified as that of Bidyadhar Mahakud from Tandibeda village.
According to police, Padmalochan’s family had a land dispute with Bidyadhar’s family.
Bidyadhar had taken the land under his possession following a court order. Padmalocahn’s family had given an amount to Bidyadhar to get back the land.
However, Bidyadhar, who did not return the land or money, was planning cultivation in the land this season.
Meanwhile, Padmalochan offered Bidyadhara a lift to his house on his bike. On the way, he stopped at a secluded place near Bankpatuli village and killed his grandfather, police said.
