NEW DELHI: Treasure of Short Stories’ is an anthology of tales written by Anantinee Mishra, a debutant 10-year-old author. Hailing from Bhubaneswar, Jhumpa’s family is now based in New Delhi.
Currently a student of Std VI in Apeejay School in Saket, New Delhi, she already has a number of stories published in reputed children’s magazines. She has multiple laurels to her credit which demonstrate her academic potential and passion for literature. She also possesses strong leadership and public speaking skills. She has been the head girl of the primary wing at her school. She is the recipient of best Human Values award, Star Child of the school award and a gold medal in English Olympiad.
The book ‘Treasure of Short Stories’ contains 14 stories, which depict moral values for all age groups. It is based on the viewpoint of the author. The book guides us through relationships, friendship and jealousy through the perspective of Mishra. Her keen observation of the world around her is subtly showcased in her work. She said that her ideas are generally inspired by famous fantasy writers. The theme of her stories does not revolve around a particular subject or topic, she added.
According to Mishra, writing a book not only requires strong vocabulary, but also a unique but accurate style of writing as each writer has a different style of writing. The book is a delightful read for children and young adults alike.
Anantinee said that a fixed routine is not mandatory to follow your passion. Due to my love for writing books, I didn’t need any work schedule. My parents were always supportive of my interests and they were glad to know that I was pursuing my dream. They encouraged me to write more and contribute to magazines for children.
