Jajpur: A man was killed and his daughter sustained critical injuries after a truck hit their bike at Baghua Square on National Highway-53 in Jajpur district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Chittaranjan Swain, a staff of Mukund Patra College and a native of Bhejigoth village.
The truck overturned after hitting the bike while the injured girl was admitted to a hospital.
Locals alleged that there has been an increase in accidents on the highway connecting Chandikhole with Duburi due to rash driving and the large number of potholes on the highway.
