BHUBANESWAR: A regional audition for the much awaited KIIT Nanhipari Little Miss India Competition was held at the premises Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) here Sunday.
A large number of participants from various parts of the state participated in the audition. Nanhipari is a national level talent haunt competition amongst young girls in the age group of 13 to 16 years. It had a modest start in 2001 in a remote and small tribal town of Keonjhar district of Odisha. In a short time-span of just 18 years, it has reached a new height with national repute.
Like every year many attractive prizes have been introduced in the 18th edition of the competition. The prize money for the winner is a maximum of Rs. 21 lakh. Rs 3 lakh cashprize and a 100% academic fee waiver subject to a maximum of Rs. 18 lakh for studying in any discipline in KIIT University is for the winner of the competition.
There are various categories to club the participants such as Miss Rapunzel – girl with most beautiful hair, Miss Photogenic – girl with best pose in the photo shoot round, Miss Selfie – the one with maximum likes on their facebook page, Miss Fashion – girl with best costume in both rounds, Miss Whiz kid – girl with highest marks in quiz round, Miss Cindrella – girl having best personality and Miss Urvasi – girl with best talent among others.
Social activist Soma Mohanty, actress Poonam Mishra,
dance choreographer Mandakini Jena, P.K Rana and Nanhipari core team members Sucheta Priyabadini, Smita Mohanty and Malay Mohapatra were present on the occasion.
