Puri: Vishva Hindu Parishad organising secretary general Vinayakrao Deshpande Friday met Gobardhan Peeth Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati here and sought the latter’s advice on Ayodhya Ram Janmabhumi issue.
It is learnt that Saraswati favoured discussions amongst all the stakeholders for resolution to the Ayodhya issue. “Many are trying to take credit on the issue. But, no one is trying to solve it through discussions. All stakeholders should rise above politics and hold discussions to solve the issue,” said the seer.
Earlier, Deshpande visited Srimandir and paid obeisance to Lord Jagannath. “I sought Lord Jagannath’s blessings for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. I also prayed the Lord to make India the No. One country in the world,” Deshpande said.
Commenting on the introduction of queue system at Srimandir, Deshpande said, “Every religious institution has its own tradition and culture. We have to maintain the tradition. The authorities concerned should consult Shankaracharya and Gajapati king before introducing reform measures at Srimandir.”
