Bhubaneswar: If you want to enjoy tasty and classy food, the international Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup-2018 would be the right occasion to do so.
With 16 nations competing for the World Cup Hockey trophy, the International Food Festival from December 1 to 16 at the IDCO Exhibition Ground at Unit III would be an occasion to be remembered by the residents of the Temple City.
This Food Festival would be part of the Bhubaneswar City Festival called FEST, organised during the international event from December 1 to 16.
Yes! City foodies would have enough reasons to get excited as around two dozen stalls will be allotted to leading hotels, restaurants and hotel and catering institutes to try out their culinary ideas and compete for the attention of the city’s food connoisseurs.
The expo would feature major cuisines like continental, regional, national and street food from across the globe.
Sources said all expo partners have volunteered to offer four food items from the menu of the country they have opted for, four from opted states across India and two street food items from Odisha.
However, to give a unique character to the offerings at the International Food Festival, each stall would have a state theme, a country theme and an Odia theme as per their choice to offer visitors a sea of choices. Some stalls would also feature more than one state and country.
Interestingly, all well-known food from the streets of Odisha like Thunka Puri, Chena Tarhari, Egg Chop, Chungudi Chop, Keema Chop, Pakodi, Baigani, Piazi, Mugapiazi, Gulgula, Mutton Chop, Chicken Pokada, Mudhi Mansa, Jhal Mudhi, Dahi Vada, Kanji Vada, Alu Dum, Chudakadamba, Malpua, Dalma, Chitta Pakodi, Chat and Kachodi Chat will be available at the festival.
The food festival would also have many activities so that visitors can enjoy their food.
Apart from the food court the venue will also have a beautiful arch with several selfie-points featuring international monuments like the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal or the beautiful arch of 10th Century Mukteswar from the Temple City.
The stalls showcasing food items from across the world would be allotted to the Swosti Group of Hotels, Mayfair Group of Hotels, Hotel New Marrion, Institute of Hotel Management, The Ranch, Bhookaa, Pipul Hotel and Resorts Padmaja Premium from Mumbai, Crown Hotel, Hotel Trident, Michael’s Kitchen, Aangan, Hotel Suryansh, Moody Blues, Hotel Seetal, Hotel Empires, VITS Hotel, OTDC from Odisha Tourism, Dalma, The Shade, Pramod Hotels and Resorts, Sandy’s Tower, ITER, Bocca Café and Coca-Cola.
