Baripada: Scores of students of Balangi ME school at Madhuban in Mayurbhanj district have been deprived of getting school uniforms being provided by government in the current academic year.
There are 241 government schools in the district where 13,436 students have been studying.
Guardians of Madhuban school have alleged the government has been discriminating against their wards in the matter of uniforms distribution.
However, it is learnt that no fund has been sanctioned to the school which has 44 students in Class VI and VII. All other high schools in the district have been provided uniforms.
“Fund was not available for uniforms this year although the higher-ups have been informed about it,” said headmistress Kananbala Das.
