Bhubaneswar: Rama Devi University celebrated its 4th foundation day here Monday to mark the 119th birth anniversary of noted freedom fighter and reformer Ramadevi Choudhury.
Governor Ganeshi Lal graced the occasion as the chief guest while Sanghamitra Mohanty, president, Odisha Bigyan Academy and Santosh Kumar Kamila, chief post master general also shared the dais.
The Governor said, “RD, being an exclusive women’s university, is something revolutionary in Odisha. RD as an emerging university and celebrating the 4th year of establishment feels proud.” He further talked about empowering women and redefining possibility.
Vice Chancellor Padmaja Mishra said, “It’s a feeling of immense joy as we celebrate this day. Infrastructure being a major challenge, RD University has created 11 new post graduation departments in the last three years. We are exposing our students and collaborating with national level institutes. Our core moto has always been quality education with social commitment.”
The inauguration was followed by a cultural programme.
The university has 49 affiliated colleges in 9 districts.
