Rayagada: Rural development minister Bikram Keshari Arukha Thursday inaugurated a 100-beded hostel of Model Odisha School at Tamada and a bridge at Halua here. He also laid the foundation stone of a bridge over the river Nagabali under the Biju Setu Yojana at a budget of Rs 1159.12 crore.
During the inauguration of the bridge, Arukha said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been emphasizing on the development, especially the connectivity of the district. He said a 641 km stretch of would be built that would connect at least 200 remote villages of the district. Among others, Rajya Sabha MP N Bhaskar Rao, Koraput MP Jhina Hikaka, Rayagda MLA Lal Bihari Himirika, Bisama Cuttack MLA Jagannath Saraka and others were present in the event.
