BHUBANESWAR: Blossoms School hosted its annual sports meet ‘KREEDA-2018’ in its premises here recently.The day was filled with fervor and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. The chief guest for the day was the Principal of Govt. College of Physical Education, Debendra Nath Behera, accompanied by Guest of Honur Anupama Swain, Gold medal winner in Asian Power lifting championship.
The day started off with the lovely rendition by the choir to pay salutations to the Almighty followed by the hoisting of ‘KREEDA-2018’ flag. Another highlight of the day was the lighting of the Blossoms Torch. This was followed by the Inter-House March past. The oath-taking ceremony took place followed by the speech of Seemita Panda, Principal of the school.
A mesmerizing mass drill named as ‘victory Symphony’ – was presented by the students as a tribute to Indian Hockey Team. The audience witnessed several sports events like long jump, Sack race, Kangaroo race, Hurdle Race and many more. These events took place in several groups namely ‘Ecstatic Eagles’, ‘Heroic Hawks’ and ‘Powerful Pheasants’ among others. This was followed by a self – defense act named as ‘Humse Na Takrao’ to showcase women empowerment.
The most attractive period of the meet was the involvement of parents in sports events like lemon spoon race and ‘Brisk walk’ race. Toddlers of the school performed an aerobic dance named as ‘Spirit of Kreeda’. Coming towards the end, an inspiring speech was delivered by the Founder Manager of the School and other dignitaries. Achievers of different events were awarded by the dignitaries and was followed by a fusion danced named as ‘Utkal – Martha’ performed by the Blossomites.
The students participated in the annual sports meet which continued Saturday. The school felt honored to have Kalpana Dash, the first Odia mountaineer to scale the Mount Everest, as the chief guest. On the second day of the meet several interesting events were lined up for the whole day. As per Blossoms customs, the atmosphere was filled with purity through the opening prayer and song sung by the Blossomites.
This was followed by several events of sports like: ‘Plucking the Flowers’, ‘Frog jumps’, ‘Flag Race’ , ‘Cap Race’, ‘Spoon Potato Race’ and many more. To make the meet appear livelier, a drill dance was performed by ‘Little Giants’, ‘Chhota Bheem’ & ‘Pooh Bears’. The day was marked by a lot of enthusiasm and filled the air with sportsmanship.
