Bhubaneswar: Odisha swimmer Pratyasha Ray bagged silver in the U-17 girls’ 200m backstroke event in the ongoing 64th National School Games swimming competition at the Talkorta stadium in Delhi Tuesday. She finished with a timing of 2.34:79 minutes.
Pratyasa is also expected to participate in the 100m and 50m backstroke events whose dates are yet to be announced.
Earlier in 2016, Pratyasha had won two gold and a silver medal in the South Asian Aquatic Championship (SAAC) held at Colombo, Sri Lanka. She also holds the title as the first Odia swimmer to do so.
In the same year, she also won three gold medals in the U-13 and U-14 girls’ category at the 43rd Junior National Aquatic Championship held in Bangalore.
