Berhampur: Ever since September 28, the day when Supreme Court ruled that women of all ages can enter the hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala, Kerala has been witnessing protests from several Hindu groups.
The apex court lifted the ban on the entry of women belonging to the age group of 10-50 years.
In Odisha also, there are some protests in this connection.
The devotees of Lord Ayyappa held a rally protesting against the verdict in Berhampur of Ganjam district.
Holding a massive rally named ‘Save Sabarimala’, the members of Srisabarisha Bhakti Samiti under the leadership of its chief Srinivas Guru Swami, marched from Satya Narayan Temple near Girija Chhak to Ashok Nagar Monday.
After reaching Ashok Nagar, they chanted Lord Ayyappa hymns. They alleged that the divinity of the temple would be destroyed with the entry of women.
