Jamtikra: With polls to Parliament and State Assembly only a few months away, leaders of various political parties are gearing up for polls in Attabira assembly constituency in Bargarh.
The BJP has too many ticket aspirants found to be lobbying hard. However, political observers say too many ticket aspirants will turn to be a headache for the party’s state leadership in the end.
Reports said, all parties have started hunting for right candidates to contest here. Compared to rival parties, BJP is said to be vigorously trying to woo voters to its side.
For months together, state leaders of the party have been routinely consulting cadres at district and block levels. The saffron party is drawing up strategies to grab the seat.
Though there are many aspirants for party ticket, the BJP was learnt to be looking for a new face.
Among the BJP’s ticket hopefuls are state executive member Milan Seth, vice president of the party’s district unit Urkul Tandi, Bharat Behera, Jashobanth Seth and Kusha Kumbhar.
Though Tandi has his sway in the constituency, it is not yet clear if the state leadership will repose faith in him in the coming elections.
All these saffron leaders have intensified their visits to villages and trying their level best to broaden their support base.
Jasobant Seth is vice president of the BJP’s district unit SC cell. For the last few years, he has been actively engaged in organizational activities. Bharat Behera was found to be seen in various programmes.
Another saffron leader who is reportedly in the ticket race is Bipin Bhosagar.
Political observers say that so many ticket aspirants in Attabira may lead to trouble for state BJP leadership. —
