New Delhi: As many as nine persons from the state will be awarded with the Fire Service, Home Guards and Civil Defence Medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, fireman Kumarbar Samal will be awarded with the President’s Fire Service Medal for distinguished service, while fitter station officer Bijaya Kumar Muduli, station officer Jyoti Prakash Rath, leading fireman Arjun Behera and fireman Soumendra Nath Kanungo will be awarded with the Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.
Similarly, Civil Defence volunteer Amulya Kumar Samartha will be awarded with the President’s Home Guards and Civil Defence (CD) Medal for Distinguished Service, while CD volunteers Bimal Prasad Pani, Prakash Kumar Jena and home guard Abhina Mohan Samantray will be conferred with the Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.
